RTM Official Radio for AMD 2012
Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) will be the official Radio for the Dayak Music Awards or Anugerah Muzik Dayak (AMD) this year.

This was decided during the meeting between RTM and DAMA on 1st of August 2012.

DAMA delegation led by its Chairman, YB Snowdan Lawan and RTM led by its Deputy Director Fee Lin Chew held a two-and-half hour meeting at RTM headquarters discussing their partnership and how RTM could contribute to the publicity and the overall organisation of the event.

RTM said that they would have no problem cooperating with DAMA in making the event a success. They will discuss among themselves regarding the possibility of recording the event live on TV or just broadcasting live on radio only.

There will be 14 categories which are accumulative to 20 awards to be presented during this year’s AMD. The awards are as follows:

Lifetime Achievement Award ( 3 awards for Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu)

Best Male Award (1 award – Open Category)

Best Female Award (1 award – Open Category)

Best Dayak Song Award ( 3 awards for Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu)

Best New Dayak Artiste Award (1 award – Open Category)

Best Group/Duo Vocal Performance in Group Award (1 award – Open Category)

Album of the Year Award ( 3 awards for Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu)

Best Album Cover Award (1 award – Open Category)

Best Video Award (1 award – Open Category)

Best Lyrics Award (1 award – Open Category)

Best Music Arrangement Award (1 award – Open Category)

Best Ballad Artiste Award (1 award – Open Category)

Best Rock Artiste Award (1 award – Open Category)

Best Pop Creative Artiste Award (1 award – Open Category)

Song nomination is open from 1 July and closes 30 August. The albums that should be sent for nominations shall be those that are produced between 1 December 2010 and 31 August 2012. The nomination forms can be acquired from DAMA Office at Sublot No. 7, 2nd Floor, Tabuan Stutong Commercial Centre, Kuching anytime during office hours on Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday only. Apart from that, the nomination form can also be downloaded from DAMA official website at www.dama.my or find us on Facebook under Dayak Artistes and Musicians Association.

DAMA will be organising more roadshows in Bintulu on 25 August, Miri on 22 September, Sri Aman on 20 October and finally Kuching on 3 November. These roadshows are to be held for the AMD 2012 promotion and membership drive as well. AMD tickets and merchandise will be on sale during the roadshows. Tickets are priced at RM30 and RM50(front).
